Strength of The Black Man

In honor of Women’s History Month, I am going to post a poem every day. I know it may go against the logic behind the month, but I want to dedicate my first day of Women’s History Month to the Black man (the man I love so much).

We may not see eye to eye. We may not be on the same page, but whether you realize it or not we are of the same blood, the same strength, the same resilience, and determination. We are two peas in one pod.

I just want to say that I love you no matter what we go through and I will always wish you the very best in your fight.

Keep fighting!! ✊🏿

I know your name

I know your story

Your roots

Your history

I know the fullness of the strength within you

And they do too

Everyone does

It’s why all women love you

And all men hate you

You are the original man

Beautiful in your brownness

Strong in your weakness

Filled with fight to make things right

You’ve already won

You are the victor

You were made victorious from the day you were born

No man can ever change that

Without a word

Without a sound

You can make mountains move

Command it

Demand it

And it shall be

Unlock it.

Release it.

Create it.

Because you already are.
